Taylor 616ce 2015
Taylor’s Grand Symphony body shape is known for its full, powerful sound with solid low-end response and plenty of headroom. Combined with the sound-refining adjustments within the maple/spruce 600 series, this delivers a rich, broad sound with convincing projection and sustain.
Various subtle optimizations have been implemented in the construction. For instance, the bracing on the back is specifically tuned for maple, and the spruce top has been subjected to torrefaction, a thermal process that ensures a broken-in, more mature tonal character with extra resonance and response. The hand-applied “Brown Sugar” stain on the back and sides gives the maple a warm, violin-like glow without thickening the lacquer layer or inhibiting the sound.
The finish is richly executed with details such as grained ivoroid Wings inlays on the fingerboard, ebony binding with ivoroid purfling, and a rosette of abalone, ebony, and ivoroid. The striped ebony pickguard and the Expression System 2 provide both visual and practical added value. With some dings on the top and light signs of wear on the back, the guitar is in excellent condition. Comes in a hardshell case.
